WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

DTC P1D8D  : Generator Motor Inverter Short

WARNING:

This procedure includes high voltage measurements with the electric powertrain system turned on. To avoid serious injury from electrical shocks while testing the high voltage cable, use insulated gloves, select a DC range of 500 V or more on your digital multimeter, and be careful not to contact each tester probes and not to contact any metal parts while you measure the high voltage cable.

NOTE:  Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

    Is DTC P1D8A indicated?

    YES

Go to the DTC P1D8A troubleshooting .

    NO

Intermittent failure. The system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

  3. Generator motor motor rotor position sensor circuit check

-1. Do the generator motor motor rotor position sensor circuit check .

    Is it OK?

    YES

    Go to step 4.

    NO

Repair an open or a short in the generator motor motor rotor position sensor circuit between the PCU and the generator motor motor rotor position sensor.

  4. Generator motor check

-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

-2. Remove the service plug .

    -3. Remove the PCU .

-4. At the generator motor 3-phase terminals side, measure the resistance between the following test points individually.

Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      PCU: removed

    NOTICE:

When measuring terminals, make sure to use an ohmmeter that is capable of measuring milli-ohm range. Make sure to take the measurement when the transmission temperature is about 68°F (20°C) (rated resistance value is at 68°F (20°C)) as the resistance figures may vary.

    Connector Terminals Value (mΩ)
