Motor Rotor Position Sensor Circuit Inspection (Generator Motor Control Module)
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE: Before testing, check for DTCs. If any DTCs are indicated, troubleshoot the indicated DTCs first.
Shorted wire check (generator motor motor rotor position sensor circuit)
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .
-3. Disconnect the following connector.
| PCU 33P connector |
Check for continuity between the following test points and body ground individually.
| Test condition | Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode |
| PCU 33P connector: disconnected |
| Connector | Test circuit | Terminal |
|---|---|---|
| PCU 33P connector | S1G | No. 3 |
| S2G | No. 26 | |
| S3G | No. 14 | |
| S4G | No. 25 | |
| R1G | No. 4 | |
| R2G | No. 15 |
- If there is no continuity, the generator motor motor rotor position sensor circuit is not shorted. Go to step 2 (Open wire check).
- If there is continuity, go to the next step.
-5. Disconnect the following connector.
| Motor rotor position sensor 12P connector |
Check for continuity between the following test points and body ground individually.
| Test condition | Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode |
| Motor rotor position sensor 12P connector: disconnected | |
| PCU 33P connector: disconnected |
| Connector | Test circuit | Terminal |
|---|---|---|
| PCU 33P connector | S1G | No. 3 |
| S2G | No. 26 | |
| S3G | No. 14 | |
| S4G | No. 25 | |
| R1G | No. 4 | |
| R2G | No. 15 |
- If there is no continuity, faulty generator motor motor rotor position sensor. Replace the transmission (e-CVT) assembly .
- If there is continuity, repair a short in the generator motor motor rotor position sensor circuit between the PCU and the generator motor motor rotor position sensor.
