DTC B2990 (D-B6), B2990 (C3)

DTC B2990, DTC screen D-B6, or DTC screen C3  : A problem in the A/C compressor driving circuit (A Problem in the Electric A/C Compressor Driving Circuit)

DTC (AC)

1. Problem verification

   -1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

   -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the READY TO DRIVE mode.

   -3. Without dual zone climate control: Set the A/C button and the temperature control dial to MAX COOL.

   With dual zone climate control: Set the A/C icon and the driver's and the passenger's temperature control dial to MAX COOL.

   -4. Do the Self-Diagnostic Function with the HDS or the climate control unit .

   -5. Check for DTCs.

   DTC Description	DTC
   B2990 A problem in the A/C compressor driving circuit

   Is DTC B2990, Error on the DTC screen D-B6 (climate control panel without display), or DTC screen C3 (climate control panel with display) indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure. Check for loose wires or poor connections on the electric A/C compressor circuit.

2. Determine possible failure area (electric A/C compressor driver, others)

   -1. Check for DTCs.

   DTC Description	DTC
   B2998 A problem in the A/C compressor driver

   Is DTC B2998, Error on the DTC screen D-B7 (climate control panel without display), or DTC screen C5 (climate control panel with display) indicated?

   YES 

   Go to climate control DTC B2998 troubleshooting .

   NO 

   Go to step 3.

3. Electric powertrain system DTC check

   -1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

   DTC Description	Confirmed DTC	Pending DTC	Freeze Frame
   P0AE1 HV Battery Precharge Contactor Circuit

   Is DTC P0AE1 indicated?

   YES 

   Go to battery condition monitor module DTC P0AE1 troubleshooting .

   NO 

   Go to step 4.

4. Electric A/C compressor fuse (30 A) check

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   -2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .

   -3. Remove the service plug and the IPU cover .

   -4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
   Test point 1	Electric A/C compressor fuse (30 A) terminal (A)
   Test point 2	Electric A/C compressor fuse (30 A) terminal (B)

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   Replace the subjunction board .

   NO 

   Replace the electric A/C compressor fuse (30 A) .
