DTC (Electric Powertrain)
- DTC (OBD STATUS) check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0AFA, P0B3B, P0B40, P0B45, P0B4A, P0B4F, P0B54, U0110, U012D, U1205, U1220, U12A5, U1604 and U1605 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
NO
Go to step 2.
- Motor control system check
-1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
Traction motor control module
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame Generator motor control module
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame DTC (Electric Powertrain)
Are any motor control module DTC indicated?
YES
Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
NO
Go to step 3.
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-4. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame P0AE1 HV Battery Precharge Contactor Circuit Is DTC P0AE1 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 4.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
- Service plug check (high voltage circuit)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Remove the service plug .
-3. Check the service plug terminal (A) for damage or corrosion.
Is the terminal OK?
YES
Go to step 5.
NO
Replace the service plug.
- Electric A/C compressor check
-1. Disconnect the electric A/C compressor connector A (2P) from the electric A/C compressor .
-2. Reinstall the service plug .
-3. Do the 12 volt battery terminal reconnection procedure .
-4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-5. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-6. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame P0AE1 HV Battery Precharge Contactor Circuit Is DTC P0AE1 indicated?
YES
Go to step 6.
NO
- Electric A/C compressor power cable check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Remove the service plug .
-3. Disconnect the electric A/C compressor high voltage cable 2P connector (A) from the subjunction board.
-4. Reinstall the service plug .
-5. Do the 12 volt battery terminal reconnection procedure .
-6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-7. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-8. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame P0AE1 HV Battery Precharge Contactor Circuit Is DTC P0AE1 indicated?
YES
Go to step 7.
NO
There is a failure in the electric A/C compressor power cable. Replace the battery power cable .
- Battery power cable check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .
-3. Remove the service plug .
-4. Disconnect the battery power cable connector from the PCU .
-5. Disconnect the battery power cable terminals (A) from the subjunction board .
NOTE: Wrap the subjunction board terminals with insulating tape.
-6. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery power cable (PCU side): disconnected Battery power cable (subjunction board side): disconnected Test point 1 Battery power cable (subjunction board side) (+) (A) Test point 2 Battery power cable (subjunction board side) (-) (B) Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the battery power cable .
NO
Go to step 8.
- Main fuse check
-1. Remove the IPU and the IPU case .
-2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Test point 1 Main fuse terminal (A) Test point 2 Main fuse terminal (B) Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 9.
NO
Faulty the main fuse. Replace the junction board .
- High voltage contactor check (coil side)
-1. Remove the junction board .
-2. Disconnect the following connector.
Junction board 4P connector -3. At the junction board side, measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Junction board 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Junction board 4P connector (male terminals) No. 3: Test point 2 Junction board 4P connector (male terminals) No. 4: Is there 31.1 - 38.0 Ω ?
YES
Go to step 10.
NO
Faulty high voltage contactor. Replace the junction board .
- High voltage contactor check (switch side)
-1. At the junction board side, connect terminals A and B to the 12 volt battery with jumper wires.
Terminal A Junction board 4P connector (male terminals) No. 3: Terminal B 12 volt battery positive terminal: Terminal A Junction board 4P connector (male terminals) No. 4: Terminal B 12 volt battery negative terminal: -2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Junction board 4P connector: disconnected Junction board 4P connector terminals No. 3 and No. 4 (junction board side): jumped to 12 volt battery Test point 1 High voltage contactor terminal (A) Test point 2 High voltage contactor terminal (B) Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 11.
NO
Faulty high voltage contactor. Replace the junction board .
- Open wire check (CNTP line)
-1. Remove the jumper wire from the junction board.
-2. Disconnect the following connector.
Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Junction board 4P connector: disconnected Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Test point 1 Junction board 4P connector (female terminals) No. 4: Test point 2 Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) No. 4 Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Go to step 12.
NO
Repair an open in the CNTP wire between the junction board and the battery condition monitor module (E4).
- Bypass contactor check (coil side)
-1. At the junction board side, measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Junction board 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Junction board 4P connector (male terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 Junction board 4P connector (male terminals) No. 3: Is there 92.7 - 113.3 Ω ?
YES
Go to step 13.
NO
Faulty bypass contactor. Replace the junction board .
- Open wire check (PRE line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Junction board 4P connector: disconnected Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Test point 1 Junction board 4P connector (female terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) No. 6 Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Go to step 14.
NO
Repair an open in the PRE wire between the junction board and the battery condition monitor module (E6).
- Bypass contactor check (switch side)
-1. At the junction board side, connect terminals A and B to the 12 volt battery with jumper wires.
Terminal A Junction board 4P connector (male terminals) No. 3: Terminal B 12 volt battery positive terminal: Terminal A Junction board 4P connector (male terminals) No. 2: Terminal B 12 volt battery negative terminal: -2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Junction board 4P connector: disconnected Junction board 4P connector terminals No. 3 and No. 2 (junction board side): jumped to 12 volt battery Test point 1 High voltage contactor terminal (A) Test point 2 High voltage contactor terminal (B) Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 15
NO
Faulty bypass contactor. Replace the junction board .
- High voltage sub contactor check (coil side)
-1. Remove the jumper wire from the junction board.
-2. At the junction board side, measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Junction board 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Junction board 4P connector (male terminals) No. 1: Test point 2 Junction board 4P connector (male terminals) No. 3: Is there 31.1 - 38.0 Ω ?
YES
Go to step 16.
NO
Faulty high voltage sub contactor. Replace the junction board .
- High voltage sub contactor check (switch side)
-1. At the junction board side, connect terminals A and B to the 12 volt battery with jumper wires
Terminal A Junction board 4P connector (male terminals) No. 3: Terminal B 12 volt battery positive terminal: Terminal A Junction board 4P connector (male terminals) No. 1: Terminal B 12 volt battery negative terminal: -2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Junction board 4P connector: disconnected Junction board 4P connector terminals No. 3 and No. 1 (junction board side): jumped to 12 volt battery Test point 1 High voltage sub contactor terminal (A) Test point 2 High voltage sub contactor terminal (B) Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 17.
NO
Faulty high voltage sub contactor. Replace the junction board .
- Open wire check (CNTN line)
-1. Remove the jumper wire from the junction board.
-2. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Junction board 4P connector: disconnected Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Test point 1 Junction board 4P connector (female terminals) No. 1: Test point 2 Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) No. 5 Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Go to step 18.
NO
Repair an open in the CNTN wire between the junction board and the battery condition monitor module (E5).
- Open wire check (CNTPS line)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Service plug 3P connector -2. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LCCK) mode Junction board 4P connector: disconnected Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Service plug 3P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Junction board 4P connector (female terminals) No. 3: Test point 2 Service plug 3P connector (female terminals) No. 1: Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) No. 3 Test point 2 Service plug 3P connector (female terminals) No. 2: Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Go to step 19.
NO
Repair an open in the CNTPS wire between the junction board and the service plug, and/or the battery condition monitor module (E3) and the service plug.
- Service plug check (contactor control circuit)
-1. Install the service plug .
-2. Reconnect the service plug 3P connector.
-3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LCCK) mode Junction board 4P connector: disconnected Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) No. 3 Test point 2 Junction board 4P connector (female terminals) No. 3: Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Replace the battery condition monitor module .
NO
Replace the service plug.
