Trim Removal/Installation - Door Areas
Special Tools Required
KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014*
* Available through the Honda Tool and Equipment Program, 888-424-6857
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim or the panels.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Remove these items:
- Driver's dashboard undercover (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD UNDERCOVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Passenger's dashboard undercover (see PASSENGER'S DASHBOARD UNDERCOVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Remove the driver's kick panel (A) or the passenger's kick panel (B).
- Pull out the door opening seal (C) as needed from the kick panel hooks and the door opening flange.
- Detach the hooks (D) from the door sill trim (E).
- Pull back the kick panel by hand to detach the clips (F, G).
- Driver's side: Disconnect the footwell light connector (H).
- Driver's side: Pass the hood release handle (I) through the hole in the panel, then remove it.

- Slide the seat forward fully.
- Remove the driver's seat belt lower anchor bolt (see step 3 on SEAT BELT REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the rear side trim panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - CARGO AREA ).
- Remove the door sill trim (A).
- Pull out the door opening seal (B) as needed from the door sill trim.
- Pull up the door sill trim by hand to detach the clips (C, D), then remove the trim. The clips (D) will stay in the body holes.
- Remove the clips from the body holes, then install the clips to the door sill trim.
- Pull out the door opening seal (A) from the trim hooks (B) and around the door opening flange, then remove the seal.
- Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
