Trim Removal/Installation - Cargo Area
Special Tools Required
KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014*
*Available through the Honda Tool and Equipment Program, 888-424-6857
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim or the panels.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Remove the tonneau cover (A).
- Remove the rear tray (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - REAR TRAY AREA ).
- Remove the cargo floor lid (A).
- Remove the spare tire.
- Remove the cargo floor side boxes (A).
- Pull up the IPU duct cover (A) by hand to detach the clips and the hooks (B), then remove the IPU duct cover.
- If necessary, remove the bolts, then remove the spare tire beam (A).
- Remove the hatch weatherstrip as needed.
- Remove the rear trim panel (A).
- Detach the hooks (B, C) on both sides from both rear side trim panels (D).
- Pull up the rear trim panel by hand to detach the clips.
- Remove these items:
- Rear tray light (see REAR TRAY LIGHT REPLACEMENT )
- Door opening seal as needed (see step 7 )
- Hatch weatherstrip as needed (see HATCH SUPPORT STRUT REPLACEMENT )
- Remove the rear side trim panel (A).
- Pull out the top of the trim by hand to detach hooks (B) from the center pillar trim (C) and the rear pillar trim (D).
- Release the pin (E) of the rear edge of the trim panel from the hole in the body.
- Pull back the trim panel by hand to detach the clips (F, G, H)
- Disconnect the cargo area light connector (I) on the left side.
- If necessary, remove the quarter hole seal (A).
- Remove the rear speaker (see REAR SPEAKER ).
- Detach the harness clip (B).
- Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips, the hooks, and the pin into place securely.
- Left side: Make sure the cargo area light connector is plugged in properly.
