Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection 
  2. Remove the drive belt from the generator pulley only, refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LF4)
  3. Remove Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Removal and Installation (LF4)

  4. Remove Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe (1). Refer to Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Replacement (LF4 - Bank 1)Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Replacement (LF4 - Bank 2)

  5. Remove Power Brake Booster Pump (1). Refer to Power Brake Booster Pump Replacement

  6. Remove Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump (1). Refer to Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Replacement (LF4)

  7. Disconnect Electrical Connector (4)
  8. Remove Protective Cap (1)
  9. Remove Generator Nut (2)
  10. Remove Starter Solenoid Cable (3)

  11. Remove Generator Bolt (1) (Qty: 3)
  12. Remove Generator (2)
