for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The transmission fluid auxiliary pump keeps the transmission fluid circulating during auto start-stop events. The transmission fluid auxiliary pump has an internal microprocessor and communicates with the TCM over a PWM circuit with a frequency of 150 Hz with a duty cycle range of 10% to 90%. If the transmission fluid level is low or overfilled or there are any restrictions in the transmission lines, hoses (if vehicle is equipped with external lines or hoses) or cooler it may affect the transmission fluid auxiliary pump operation.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition TCM P0B0D:00 Electric/Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump Motor Control Module: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates the transmission fluid auxiliary pump communication is OK, the frequency is between 125 Hz and 175 Hz and a valid duty cycle was detected, but the transmission fluid auxiliary pump has detected a pump over or under speed condition. The current flow through the pump was within specification (55% to 60% or 65% to 70% duty cycle). TCM P0C27:00 Electric/Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump "A" Motor Current Low: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates the transmission fluid auxiliary pump communication is OK, the frequency is between 125 Hz and 175 Hz, but a low current is detected (10% to 15% duty cycle). Possible causes are a low transmission fluid level or leaking pump seals. TCM P175A:00 Transmission Fluid Over Temperature Condition - Electric Transmission Fluid Pump Disabled: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the auxiliary pump communication is OK, the frequency is between 130 Hz and 170 Hz, but an over temperature condition is detected (30% to 34% duty cycle). This DTC can be caused by high transmission fluid temperatures. Possible Sources
- Electric transmission fluid pump
- Transmission fluid auxiliary pump seals
- Transmission fluid auxiliary pump
- F1 CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL
- CHECK the transmission fluid level. REFER to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
Is the transmission fluid level correct?
Yes GO to F2 No CORRECT the transmission fluid to the proper level, clear the DTCand road test the vehicle. If the DTC returns, GO to F2 - F2 CHECK THE TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all DTCs from the TCM.
Are DTCs P0B0D, P0C27 and/or P175A present?
Yes For DTC P0B0D, GO to F3. For P0C27, GO to F4. For P175A, GO to F6 No The fault is not present at this time. - F3 RECHECK FOR DTC P0B0D
- Ignition ON.
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, CLEAR all DTCs.
- Road test the vehicle, making sure the auto start-stop function operates.
- Carry out the TCM self-test.
Is DTC P0B0D present?
Yes INSTALL a new transmission fluid auxiliary pump. REFER to: Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Pump . No The fault is not present at this time. - F4 RECHECK FOR DTC P0C27

Is DTC P0C27 present?
Yes GO to F5 No The fault is not present at this time. - F5 CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AUXILIARY PUMP SEALS
- Remove the transmission fluid pan. REFER to: Transmission Fluid Pan, Gasket and Filter .
- Remove the transmission fluid auxiliary pump tube and inspect the seals.
Are the transmission fluid pump seals OK?
Yes INSTALL a new transmission fluid auxiliary pump. REFER to: Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Pump . No INSTALL new seals on the transmission fluid auxiliary pump tube. REFER to: Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Pump . - F6 CHECK FOR TRANSMISSION OVER TEMPERATURE DTCS
- Ignition ON.
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all CMDTCs.
Are DTCs P0218 and/or P1783 present?
Yes RESOLVE those DTCs first. REFER to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart . No GO to F7 - F7 RECHECK FOR DTC P175A
- Allow the transmission to cool.
- Ignition ON.
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, CLEAR all DTCs.
- Road test the vehicle, making sure the transmission reaches operating temperature and the auto start-stop function operates.
- Carry out the TCM self-test.
Is DTC P175A present?
Yes INSTALL a new transmission fluid auxiliary pump. REFER to: Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Pump . No The fault is not present at this time. It may have been caused by a previous extreme operating condition.
