Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The DDM communicates with the DRDM over a LIN circuit. In the event the DRDM fails, the LHR power window and power door lock become inoperative.
The PDM communicates with the PRDM over a LIN circuit. In the event the PRDM fails, the RHR power window and power door lock become inoperative.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition DDM B1087:83 LIN Bus "A": Value Of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect LIN Bus "A": Value Of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect DDM B1087:87 LIN Bus "A": Missing Message Sets by the DDM when a communication fault is detected from the communication from the corresponding RDM. PDM B1087:83 LIN Bus "A": Value Of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect LIN Bus "A": Value Of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect PDM B1087:87 LIN Bus "A": Missing Message Sets by the PDM when a communication fault is detected from the communication from the corresponding RDM. - Fuse
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- RDM
- DDM
- PDM
- BCM
- NOTE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
- U1 CHECK IF THE DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) SET IN THE DDM (DRIVER DOOR MODULE)
- Review the results from the DDM self-test.
Is DTC B1087:83 or B1087:87 set in the DDM?
Yes GO to U2 No GO to U3 - U2 ISOLATE THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect Master Window Control Switch C535.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test.
Is DTC B1087:83 or B1087:87 still present?
Yes GO to U3 No INSTALL a new window control switch. REFER to: Driver Door Window Control Switch . - U3 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE REAR DOOR MODULE
- Ignition OFF.
- For DTC set in DDM, Disconnect:
- DRDM C728.
- For DTC set in PDM, Disconnect:
- PRDM C832.
- Measure:

Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes GO to U5 No VERIFY BCM Fuse 29 (30A) for the DRDM or fuse 30 (30A) for the PRDM is OK. If OK, GO to U4 If not OK, REFER to the SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. - U4 CHECK THE REAR DOOR MODULE VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect BCM C2280F.
- Measure:
LHR Door

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to U11 No REPAIR the circuit. - U5 CHECK THE REAR DOOR MODULE GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to U6 No REPAIR the circuit. - Measure:
- U6 CHECK THE LIN (LOCAL INTERCONNECT NETWORK) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- For DTC set in DDM, Disconnect:
- DDM C501A.
- For DTC set in PDM, Disconnect:
- PDM C652A.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:

Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the circuit. No GO to U7 - For DTC set in DDM, Disconnect:
- U7 CHECK THE LIN (LOCAL INTERCONNECT NETWORK) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:

Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to U8 No REPAIR the circuit. - U8 CHECK THE CHECK THE LIN (LOCAL INTERCONNECT NETWORK) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to U9 No REPAIR the circuit. - Measure:
- U9 CHECK FOR CORRECT REAR DOOR MODULE OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect the suspect RDM connector.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connectors or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the suspect RDM connector and make sure it seats and latches correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM, or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new RDM. REFER to: Rear Door Module (RDM) . TEST the system for normal operation. If the concern is still present, GO to U10 No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - U10 CHECK FOR CORRECT FRONT DOOR MODULE OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect all the DDM or PDM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connectors or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the DDM or PDM connectors and make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM, or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new DDM or PDM. REFER to: Driver Door Module (DDM) . REFER to: Passenger Door Module (PDM) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - U11 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect all the BCM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connectors or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the BCM connectors and make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM, or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, Refer to BCM GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
