Pinpoint Test Aa : The OVERSPEED Warning Indicator Is Never Or Always On (Gulf Coast Countries [GCC] Only)

If the vehicle speed message is missing or invalid for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the overspeed warning indicator to its last state (on or off) based upon the last known good message received.
If the vehicle speed message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the overspeed warning indicator off.

- Verify the speedometer operates.
Does the speedometer operate?
Yes GO to AA2 No GO to Pinpoint Test D - AA2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) No GO to AA3 - AA3 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes No GO to AA4 - AA4 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING A DIAGNOSTIC SCAN TOOL
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, view the IPC Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
- Select the IPC overspeed warning indicator (OVR_SPD_IND) PID.
- Command the overspeed warning indicator on and off while observing the indicator.
Does the overspeed warning indicator illuminate when commanded on and turn off when commanded off?
Yes If the overspeed warning indicator is never on at speeds over 120 km/h (75 mph), VERIFY the IPC is correctly configured for Gulf Coast Countries (GCC) using as-built data. REFER to: Module Configuration - System Operation and Component Description . If the overspeed warning indicator is always on at speeds below 120 km/h (75 mph), INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) . No INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
