P0604 Transmission Control Module (TCM) TCM Random Access Memory (RAM) has been corrupted The TCM has detected an internal software concern with the RAM.
  • Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) ON
  • Wrench light illuminated
  • Default to 3rd or 5th gear
REPROGRAM the original TCM to the latest calibration. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If DTCs return, INSTALL a new TCM. After installing the new TCM, PROGRAM it with the latest calibration and PERFORM the Solenoid Body Strategy Data Download. REFER to SOLENOID BODY STRATEGY . Road test the vehicle and PERFORM the ADAPTIVE DRIVE CYCLE , REFER to SHIFT POINT ROAD TEST .
P0605 TCM TCM Read-Only Memory (ROM) has been corrupted The TCM has detected an internal software concern with the ROM.
  • MIL ON
  • Default to 5th gear
REPROGRAM the original TCM to the latest calibration. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If DTCs return, INSTALL a new TCM. After installing the new TCM, PROGRAM it with the latest calibration and PERFORM the Solenoid Body Strategy Data Download. REFER to SOLENOID BODY STRATEGY . Road test the vehicle and PERFORM the ADAPTIVE DRIVE CYCLE , REFER to SHIFT POINT ROAD TEST .
P0607 TCM Control module performance The TCM Central Processing Unit (CPU) has encountered an error.
  • MIL ON
  • Erratic transmission shifts if TCM resets
REPROGRAM the original TCM to the latest calibration. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If DTCs return, INSTALL a new TCM. After installing the new TCM, PROGRAM it with the latest calibration and PERFORM the Solenoid Body Strategy Data Download. REFER to SOLENOID BODY STRATEGY . Road test the vehicle and PERFORM the ADAPTIVE DRIVE CYCLE , REFER to SHIFT POINT ROAD TEST .
P0657 PCM/TCM Actuator supply voltage A circuit open The PCM/TCM has detected that the actuator supply voltage A high side power supply circuit failed.
  • MIL ON
  • Maximum line pressure
  • Default to 5th gear
Power to all solenoids has been interrupted. CHECK for opens, short to ground and the harness disconnected. For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P06b8 TCM Internal control module Non-Volatile Random Access Memory (NVRAM) error A reprogram that caused a size change of the NVRAM or a TCM failure.
  • MIL ON
  • Poor shift quality
REPROGRAM the original TCM to the latest calibration. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If DTCs return, INSTALL a new TCM. After installing the new TCM, PROGRAM it with the latest calibration and PERFORM the Solenoid Body Strategy Data Download. REFER to SOLENOID BODY STRATEGY . Road test the vehicle and PERFORM the ADAPTIVE DRIVE CYCLE , REFER to SHIFT POINT ROAD TEST .
P0701 PCM/TCM Transmission control system range/performance The PCM/TCM has detected a concern with the operational strategy.
  • MIL ON
  • Vehicle decelerates during upshifts or hangs in gear
  • DTCs P2700 (A) clutch, P2701 (B) clutch, P2702 (C) clutch, P2703 (D) clutch and P2704 (E) clutch may set
REPAIR the more specific DTC first. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0702 PCM/TCM Transmission control electrical system The PCM/TCM has detected a voltage level above or below the accepted voltage range.
  • MIL ON
  • Maximum line pressure
  • Default to 5th gear
  • DTCs P0882 and/or P0883 may set
INSPECT the PCM/TCM connector for damaged or pushed out terminals, corrosion or loose wires. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to CHARGING SYSTEM .
P0706 Transmission Range (TR) Sensor TR sensor A circuit range/performance The TR sensor signal frequency is out of normal range.
  • MIL ON
  • Wrench light illuminated
  • Maximum line pressure
  • Default to 5th gear
  • Engine may not crank
The TR sensor outputs a duty cycle indicating manual lever position. This DTC sets when the duty cycle is greater or less than expected by 50Hz. For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST C . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST H .
P0707 TR Sensor TR sensor A circuit low The TR sensor duty cycle is out of normal range.
  • MIL ON
  • Wrench light illuminated
  • Maximum line pressure
  • Default to 5th gear
  • Engine may not crank
The TR sensor outputs a duty cycle indicating manual lever position. This DTC sets when the duty cycle is less than 8%, GO to PINPOINT TEST H .
P0708 TR Sensor TR sensor A circuit high The TR sensor duty cycle is out of normal range.
  • MIL ON
  • Wrench light illuminated
  • Maximum line pressure
  • Default to 5th gear
  • Engine may not crank
The TR sensor outputs a duty cycle indicating manual lever position. This DTC sets when the duty cycle is greater than 92%. For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST C . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST H .
P0710 Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor TFT sensor A circuit The PCM/TCM has detected a voltage drop across the TFT sensor exceeds scale.
  • MIL ON
  • Transmission Control Indicator Lamp (TCIL) flashing
  • DTCs P0711 and/or P0712 may set
REPAIR the more specific DTC first. For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST B . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST G .
P0711 TFT Sensor TFT sensor A circuit range/performance The PCM/TCM has detected no TFT change during operation.
  • MIL ON
  • TCIL flashing (gasoline only)
  • Wrench light illuminated (gasoline only)
  • No 5th or 6th gears
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST B . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST G .
P0712 TFT Sensor TFT sensor A circuit low The PCM/TCM has detected a voltage drop across the TFT sensor exceeds a temperature greater than 171°C (340°F) for more then 2.5 seconds (grounded circuit).
  • MIL ON
  • TCIL flashing (gasoline only)
  • Wrench light illuminated (gasoline only)
  • No 5th or 6th gears
  • DTC P0710 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST B . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST G .
P0713 TFT Sensor TFT sensor A circuit high The PCM/TCM has detected a voltage drop across the TFT sensor exceeds a temperature less than -45°C (-50°F) for more then 2.5 seconds (open circuit).
  • MIL ON
  • TCIL flashing (gasoline only)
  • Wrench light illuminated (gasoline only)
  • No 5th or 6th gears
  • DTC P0710 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST B . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST G .
P0715 Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) Sensor TSS sensor A circuit The PCM/TCM has detected a loss of the TSS sensor signal during operation.
  • MIL ON
  • Wrench light illuminated (gasoline only)
  • Maximum line pressure
  • Default to 5th gear
  • DTC P0717 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST D . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST I .
P0717 TSS Sensor TSS sensor A circuit no signal The PCM/TCM has not detected a TSS sensor signal during operation.
  • MIL ON (gasoline only)
  • TCIL flashing
  • Maximum line pressure
  • Default to 5th gear
  • DTC P0715 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST D . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST I .
P0718 TSS Sensor TSS sensor circuit A intermittent The PCM/TCM has detected an intermittent (noise)TSS sensor signal during operation.
  • TCIL flashing
  • Poor shift quality
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST D . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST I .
P0720 Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor OSS sensor circuit The PCM/TCM has detected a loss of the OSS sensor signal during operation.
  • MIL ON
  • TCIL flashing
  • Maximum line pressure
  • Default to 5th gear
  • DTC P0722 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST E . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST J .
P0721 OSS Sensor OSS sensor circuit range/performance The PCM/TCM has detected a loss or a noise on the OSS sensor signal circuit during operation.
  • MIL ON
  • TCIL flashing
  • Poor shift quality
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST E . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST J .
P0722 OSS Sensor OSS sensor no signal The PCM/TCM has not detected a OSS sensor signal during operation.

  • Wrench light illuminated (gasoline only)
  • Maximum line pressure
  • Default to 5th gear
  • DTC P0720 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST E . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST J .
P0729 Transmission Gear 6 incorrect ratio The PCM/TCM did not detect a 6th gear ratio.
  • MIL ON (gasoline only)
  • TCIL flashing
  • Wrench light illuminated (gasoline only)
  • Flair or neutral condition
  • No 6th gear
Intermediate clutch (C) or overdrive clutch (E) slip or clutch (C) failed to apply. REFER to the CLUTCH APPLICATION CHART . CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to No 5-6 Shift .
P0731 Transmission Gear 1 incorrect ratio The PCM/TCM did not detect a 1st gear ratio.
  • MIL ON (gasoline only)
  • TCIL flashing
  • Wrench light illuminated (gasoline only)
  • Flair or neutral condition, hangs in gear
  • No 1st gear
Forward clutch (A), low/reverse clutch (D) or One-Way Clutch (OWC) slip or clutch (D) failed to apply. REFER to the CLUTCH APPLICATION CHART . CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to No 1-2 Shift .
P0732 Transmission Gear 2 incorrect ratio The PCM/TCM did not detect a 2nd gear ratio.
  • MIL ON (gasoline only)
  • TCIL flashing
  • Wrench light illuminated (gasoline only)
  • Flair or neutral condition, hangs in gear
  • No 2nd gear
Forward clutch (A) or intermediate clutch (C) slip or clutch (C) failed to apply. REFER to the CLUTCH APPLICATION CHART . CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to No 1-2 Shift .
P0733 Transmission Gear 3 incorrect ratio The PCM/TCM did not detect a 3rd gear ratio.
  • MIL ON (gasoline only)
  • TCIL flashing
  • Wrench light illuminated (gasoline only)
  • Flair or neutral condition, hangs in gear
  • No 3rd gear
Forward clutch (A) or direct clutch (B) slip or clutch (B) failed to apply. REFER to the CLUTCH APPLICATION CHART . CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to No 2-3 Shift .
P0734 Transmission Gear 4 incorrect ratio The PCM/TCM did not detect a 4th gear ratio.
  • MIL ON (gasoline only)
  • TCIL flashing
  • Wrench light illuminated (gasoline only)
  • Flair or neutral condition, hangs in gear
  • No 4th gear
Forward clutch (A) or overdrive clutch (E) slip or clutch (E) failed to apply in an upshift or clutch (A) failed to apply. REFER to the CLUTCH APPLICATION CHART . CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to No 3-4 Shift  or No 5-4 Shift .
P0735 Transmission Gear 5 incorrect ratio The PCM/TCM did not detect a 5th gear ratio.
  • MIL ON (gasoline only)
  • TCIL flashing
  • Wrench light illuminated (gasoline only)
  • Flair or neutral condition, hangs in gear
  • No 5th gear
Direct clutch (B) or overdrive clutch (E) slip or clutch (B) failed to apply. REFER to the CLUTCH APPLICATION CHART . CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to No 4-5 Shift .
P0740 Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Solenoid TCC solenoid circuit open The TCC solenoid circuit failed to 0 amps. Circuit open, TCC failed off.
  • MIL ON
  • TCIL flashing (gasoline only)
  • No TCC lock up
  • DTC P0743 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0741 TCC TCC performance/stuck off The TCC failed to apply after 3 consecutive commands from the TCM.
  • MIL ON
  • No TCC
  • DTC P2760 may set
DTC P0741 is a non-electrical DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to Torque Converter Operation Concerns, No Apply .
P0742 TCC Solenoid TCC solenoid circuit stuck on The PCM/TCM has detected a TCC solenoid control circuit shorted to ground (0 volts).
  • MIL ON
  • TCC is disabled
  • Poor launch performance
  • Maximum line pressure
  • Default to 5th gear
  • DTC P0743 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0743 TCC Solenoid TCC solenoid circuit electrical The PCM/TCM has detected a TCC solenoid circuit open, shorted to ground or an intermittent.
  • MIL ON (gasoline only)
  • TCIL flashing (diesel only)
  • TCC is disabled
  • Maximum line pressure
  • Poor launch performance
  • Default to 5th gear
  • DTC P0740, P0742 and/or P0744 may set
REPAIR the more specific DTC first. For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0744 TCC Solenoid TCC solenoid circuit intermittent The PCM/TCM has detected the TCC solenoid control circuit shorted to power.
  • MIL ON (diesel only)
  • TCC is disabled
  • DTC P0743 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0748 Pressure Control Solenoid A (PCA) PCA electrical The PCM/TCM sets this DTC along with one or more specific electrical DTCs.
  • TCIL flashing
  • Maximum line pressure
  • Default to 5th gear
  • DTCs P0960, P0962 and/or P0963 may set
REPAIR the more specific DTC first. For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0750 Shift Solenoid A (SSA) SSA The PCM/TCM has detected that the SSA circuit failed open or shorted to power.
  • MIL ON
  • 5th and 6th gear only
  • Poor launch performance
  • DTC P0753 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0751 SSA SSA performance/stuck off The PCM/TCM commanded SSA ON but detected a ratio error (mechanical failure).
  • MIL ON
  • 5th or 6th gear only
  • Harsh reverse engagement
  • Neutral or flair condition on downshift
  • Poor launch performance
  • DTC P2700 may set
DTC P0751 is a non-electrical DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0752 SSA SSA stuck on The PCM/TCM commanded SSA off but detected a ratio error (mechanical failure).
  • MIL ON
  • Disable 5th and 6th gear
  • Erratic shifts
  • Stuck in 4th gear
  • DTC P2700 may set
DTC P0752 is a non-electrical DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0753 SSA SSA electrical The PCM/TCM sets this DTC along with one or more specific electrical DTCs.
  • TCIL flashing
  • Wrench light illuminated
  • 5th and 6th gear only
  • DTCs P0750, P0973 and/or P0974 may set
REPAIR the more specific DTC first. For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0754 SSA SSA intermittent The PCM/TCM sets this DTC when an intermittent condition (open, short to power or ground) occurs three times for less than 5 seconds with each occurrence.
  • Unexpected upshifts, downshifts, flairs or neutral conditions
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0755 Shift Solenoid B (SSB) SSB electrical The PCM/TCM has detected that the SSB circuit has failed open or shorted to power.
  • MIL ON
  • 3rd and 5th gear only
  • Harsh 1-3 shift
  • DTC P0758 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0756 SSB SSB performance/stuck off The PCM/TCM commanded SSB on but detected a ratio error (mechanical failure).
  • MIL ON
  • Disable 3rd and 5th gear
  • Neutral or flair condition
  • Transmission hangs in 2nd on acceleration
  • DTC P2701 may set
DTC P0756 is a non-electrical DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0757 SSB SSB stuck on The PCM/TCM commanded SSB off but detected a ratio error (mechanical failure).
  • MIL ON
  • 3rd and 5th gear only
  • Neutral or flair condition
  • Erratic shifts
  • DTC P2701 may set
DTC P0757 is a non-electrical DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0758 SSB SSB electrical The PCM/TCM sets this DTC along with one or more specific electrical DTCs.
  • TCIL flashing
  • Wrench light illuminated
  • Default to 5th gear depending on other DTCs
  • Minimum or maximum line pressure depending on other DTCs (failed voltage high or voltage low)
  • DTCs P0755, P0976 and/or P0977 may set
REPAIR the more specific DTC first. For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0759 SSB SSB intermittent The PCM/TCM sets this DTC when an intermittent condition (open, short to power or ground) occurs three times for less than 5 seconds with each occurrence.
  • Unexpected upshifts, downshifts, flairs or neutral conditions
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0760 Shift Solenoid C (SSC) SSC electrical The PCM/TCM detected that the SSC circuit failed open.
  • MIL ON
  • Disable 2nd and 6th gear
  • Erratic or harsh 1-3 shift
  • DTC P0763 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0761 SSC SSC performance/stuck off The PCM/TCM commanded SSC on but detected a ratio error (mechanical failure).
  • MIL ON
  • Disable 2nd and 6th gear
  • Neutral or flair condition
  • DTC P2702 may set
DTC P0761 is a non-electrical DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0762 SSC SSC stuck on The PCM/TCM commanded SSC off but detected a ratio error (mechanical failure).
  • MIL ON
  • 2nd and 6th gear only
  • Harsh reverse engagement
  • Erratic shift or stuck in 6th
  • DTC P2702 may set
DTC P0762 is a non-electrical DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0763 SSC SSC electrical The PCM/TCM sets this DTC along with one or more specific electrical DTCs.
  • TCIL flashing
  • Wrench light illuminated
  • Default to 2nd and 6th gear or 1st and 3rd depending on other DTCs
  • Minimum or maximum line pressure depending on other DTCs (failed voltage high or voltage low)
  • DTCs P0760, P0979 and/or P0980 may set
REPAIR the more specific DTC first. For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0764 SSC SSC intermittent The PCM/TCM sets this DTC when an intermittent condition (open, short to power or ground) occurs three times for less than 5 seconds with each occurrence.
  • Unexpected upshifts, downshifts, flairs or neutral conditions
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0765 Shift Solenoid D (SSD) SSD electrical The PCM/TCM detected that the SSD circuit failed open.
  • MIL ON
  • Disable 1st gear
  • Hydraulic controls reverse but engagement may be harsh
  • DTC P0768 may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0766 SSD SSD performance/stuck off The PCM/TCM commanded SSD on but detected a ratio error (mechanical failure).
  • MIL ON
  • Disable 1st gear or 1st gear only depending on other DTCs
  • 2nd gear launch or stuck in 1st gear only depending on other DTCs
  • DTC P0767 and/or DTC P2703 may set
DTC P0766 is a non-electrical DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0767 SSD SSD stuck on The PCM/TCM commanded SSD off but detected a ratio error (mechanical failure).
  • MIL ON
  • 1st gear only
  • High engine rpm
  • OWC (D) failed on
DTC P0767 is a non-electrical DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0768 SSD SSD electrical The PCM/TCM sets this DTC along with one or more specific electrical DTCs.
  • TCIL flashing
  • Wrench light illuminated
  • Disable 1st gear or 5th gear only depending on other DTCs
  • Minimum or maximum line pressure depending on other DTCs (failed voltage high or voltage low)
  • DTC P0765, P0982 and/or P0983 may set
REPAIR the more specific DTC first. For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0769 SSD SSD intermittent The PCM/TCM sets this DTC when an intermittent condition (open, short to power or ground) occurs three times for less than 5 seconds with each occurrence.
  • Unexpected upshifts, downshifts, flairs or neutral conditions
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0770 Shift Solenoid E (SSE) SSE electrical The PCM/TCM detected that the SSE circuit failed open.
  • MIL ON
  • Disable 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear
  • 4th gear launch
  • Delayed reverse engagement
  • Maximum line pressure
  • P0773 DTC may set
For gasoline engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines, GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
P0771 SSE SSE performance/stuck off The PCM/TCM commanded SSE on but detected a ratio error (mechanical failure).
  • MIL ON
  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear only
  • Erratic shifting, flairs or neutral condition
  • DTC P0772 and/or P2704 may set
DTC P0771 is a non-electrical DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC returns, REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0772 SSE SSE stuck on The PCM/TCM commanded SSE off but detected a ratio error (mechanical failure).
  • MIL ON
  • Disable 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear
  • 4th gear launch
  • Maximum line pressure
  • DTC P0771 and/or P2704 may set

U0415 CAN Invalid data received from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) control module The PCM/TCM is receiving incorrect signal data (wheel speed, brake pressure) from the ABS module.
  • May set MIL
CLEAR the DTC. RUN the Network Test. If the DTC returns, REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) & STABILITY CONTROL .
