Battery Coolant Heater (BCH): Notes

REMOVAL
- Power down the high voltage system. Refer to VEHICLE HIGH VOLTAGE POWER DOWN .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Drain the low temp/battery cooling system. Refer to DRAINING - LOW TEMP/BATTERY COOLING SYSTEM .
- Remove the left underbody shield. Refer to SIDE UNDERBODY SHIELDS BEV .
- Disconnect and cap the BCH wire harness connectors.
1 - Battery Coolant Pump Hose Support 2 - Battery Coolant Pump Hose Quick-Connect Fitting 3 - Battery Coolant Heater (BCH) 4 - Battery Coolant Heater Wire Harness Connectors - Remove the quick-connect fitting for the BCH coolant pump.
- Disconnect the BCH inlet coolant hose.
1 - BCH Inlet Coolant Hose 2 - BCH Mounting Bracket 3 - BCH Mounting Bolts 4 - BCH Outlet Coolant Hose - Disconnect the BCH outlet coolant hose.
- Remove the bolts that secure the BCH to the bracket and remove it from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Fill the low temp/battery cooling system. Refer to FILLING - LOW TEMP/BATTERY COOLING SYSTEM .
- Check the battery cooling system for leaks. Refer to BATTERY COOLING, DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
- Power up the high voltage system after repair is completed. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE POWER UP .
