Spindle, Rear: Removal

NOTE:

Before proceeding. Refer to WARNING .

  1. Place the Electric Park Brake (EPB) in maintenance mode. Refer to PARKING BRAKE, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the hub and bearing. Refer to HUB AND BEARING, REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the wheel speed sensor from the spindle. Refer to SENSOR, WHEEL SPEED, REAR, REMOVAL .

  6. Remove the brake shield mounting screws (1) and remove the brake shield.

  7. Remove and DISCARD  the spindle bolts (1) and remove the spindle.
