Panel, Instrument: Installation

  1. With the help of an assistant, position the instrument panel into the vehicle and install the right side guide pin and the left side guide hook to the sides of the cowl panel.
  2. Install the fence line bolts on top of I/P and tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs).
  3. Install the fence line bolt acess covers (1).
  4. Connect the ORC Module electrical connector and position the wiring under the carpet.
  5. Install the ground eyelet fastener at ORC/YAWL Modules and position the carpet back as necessary.
  6. Install the three bolts (1) that secure the right side instrument panel bracket to the cowl panel.
  7. Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).

  8. Connect the coaxial cable connectors (2) to the antenna coaxial cable connectors (1) located on the right side of the cowl panel.

  9. Connect the five instrument panel wire harness connectors to the two body wire harness connectors (1) located on the right side of the cowl panel (2).

  10. Install the glove box to the instrument panel. Refer to GLOVE BOX, INSTRUMENT PANEL, INSTALLATION .
  11. Install the right side hush panel.
  12. Install the two bolts (1) that secure the instrument panel to the center of the floor panel.
  13. Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).
  14. Install the brake sled to I/P bolts.
  15. Install the floor console, if equipped. Refer to INSTALLATION .

  16. Install the three bolts that secure the left side of the instrument panel to the dash panel.
  17. Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m. (9 ft. lbs.).

  18. Connect the headliner wire harness connector (2) located at the A-pillar and secure the harness push pin (1) fully. Repeat procedure for the right side of the instrument panel.

  19. Install the left instrument panel slide cover (1) fully engaging the retainer clips. Repeat procedure for the right instrument panel side cover.

  20. Install the left and right A-pillar trim panels. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  21. Install the steering column bracket bolts (1) and tighten to the proper SPECIFICATIONS .
  22. Install the steering column as necessary. Refer to INSTALLATION .

  23. Install the manual park release lever (2) and install the bolts (1). Tighten the bolts securely.

  24. Install the trim panel (1) covering the manual park release lever to the instrument panel and seat fully.
  25. Install the hood release lever. Refer to INSTALLATION .

  26. Connect the park brake release lever link (2).

  27. Connect the instrument panel wire harness connector (2) located above the brake pedal to the bulkhead wire harness connector (1).
  28. Install the steering column opening cover. Refer to INSTALLATION .

  29. Install the left and right cowl trim panels. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  30. Install the front seat assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  31. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
