Oil Pump: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
  2. Remove crankshaft vibration damper (Refer to ENGINE/ENGINE BLOCK/VIBRATION DAMPER - REMOVAL)  .
  3. Remove the front timing belt cover (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT COVER(S)  - REMOVAL).
  4. Remove the timing belt (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT AND SPROCKETS - REMOVAL)  .
  5. Remove the timing belt tensioner pulley bracket (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT TENSIONER & PULLEY - REMOVAL)  .
  6. Remove the camshaft sprockets and the rear timing belt cover (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT COVER(S)  - REMOVAL).
  7. Drain engine oil. Remove the oil pan (Refer to ENGINE/LUBRICATION/OIL PAN - REMOVAL)  .
  8. Remove crankshaft sprocket using Special Tool 6793 and insert C-4685-C2. See Fig 1.

  9. Remove the oil pick-up tube.
  10. Remove the oil pump and front crankshaft seal. See Fig 2.

6 - DRAIN PLUG
