Test 3A - Conditions Needed To Set DTCS

NOTE: Perform TEST 2A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS . Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A after each repair. Using scan tool, select READ DTCs. Record DTCs. Using scan tool, select ERASE DTCs. Attempt to reset DTC. For more information see DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE . If DTC resets, go to TEST 2A . If DTC does not reset, go to TEST 6A .

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

DTC	Perform Procedure
11	Turn ignition from off to on. Apply brakes. Slowly move shift lever through each position.
12	Status code, requires no action. Turn ignition from off to on. If no limp-in occurs, start engine.
14	Turn ignition from off to on. If no limp-in occurs, start engine.
15	Turn ignition from off to on. If no limp-in occurs, start engine.
16	Turn ignition from off to on.
17	Turn ignition from off to on.
18	Start engine, run in "P" for 3 seconds (minimum).
19	Start engine and wait 15 seconds.
20	Turn ignition from off to on. If no code is present, start engine.
21-27	Run engine in "N" for 1 minute. Drive vehicle in each gear ("R", "1", "2", "3" and "4") for 30 seconds (minimum).
28	Start engine and slowly move shift lever from "P" to "L".
29	Start engine and move throttle from closed to W.O.T.
30	With transaxle at normal operating temperature, drive vehicle for one minute in 1st gear, then 2nd gear.
32	With transaxle at normal operating temperature, drive vehicle for one minute in 1st gear, then 3rd gear.
33	With transaxle at normal operating temperature, drive vehicle for one minute in 1st gear.
35	Drive vehicle in OD until TCC is engaged.
36	Stand alone code. See accompanying 50-series code.
37	Drive vehicle in 2nd gear, then apply brake until a 2-1 shift occurs. Repeat 2 more times.
38	With transaxle at normal operating temperature, drive vehicle in 4th gear at light throttle (50 MPH) for 17 to 20 seconds. Using scan tool, verify TCC operation.
41-44	Start and run engine for 30 seconds (minimum).
45	Start and run engine for 20 seconds (minimum).
46	Go to TEST 33A .
47	With transaxle at normal operating temperature, drive vehicle in 4th gear at light throttle (50 MPH) for 20 seconds.
50-58	Run engine in "N" for 1 minute. Drive vehicle in each gear ("R", "1", "2", "3" and "4") for 30 seconds (minimum).
60-63	Run engine in "N" for 1 minute. Drive vehicle in each gear ("R", "1", "2", "3" and "4") for 30 seconds (minimum).
70-71	Operate vehicle in autostick mode.
