Reverse Flushing

    NOTE:
    • Reverse flow refrigerant flushing is recommended for desiccant cartridge failure.
    • The filter inside GE-45268-1 is serviceable. Remove and discard the check valve from the filter.
  1. Service the filter with ACDelco P/N GF 470, before each flush.
    1. Connect GE-45268-1 to the discharge port of GE-45268-10.
    2. Connect the blue hose from GE-50300 Air Conditioning Service Center for HFO1234-yf to the suction port of GE-45268-1 flush adapter (4).
    3. Connect the red hose from GE-50300 Air Conditioning Service Center for HFO1234-yf to the suction port of GE-45268-10 flush adapter (1).
    2. NOTE:

    The valve on the external refrigerant tank must be closed before starting the flush process.

  2. Flush the front air conditioning system by following the instructions supplied with the GE-50300 Air Conditioning Service Center for HFO1234-yf.
  3. Remove GE-45268-121 from the front evaporator.
    1. Inspect the front air conditioning evaporator thermal expansion valve for debris. Clean or replace as needed.
    2. Install the front air conditioning evaporator thermal expansion valve. Air Conditioning Evaporator Thermal Expansion Valve Replacement 
  4. Remove GE-45268-10 from the discharge hose.
  5. Remove GE-45268-10 from the suction hose.
    6. NOTE:

    Flushing will remove all the air conditioning PAG oil from the air conditioning system. The air conditioning system must be replenished with the correct amount of air conditioning PAG oil.

  6. Perform the air conditioning compressor oil balancing procedure. Air Conditioning Compressor Oil Balancing 
    7. NOTE:

    GE-41447-a A/C tracer dye is for PAG oil only.

  7. Add one bottle of the proper leak detection dye directly to the air conditioning compressor. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
  8. Install the air conditioning compressor. Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LFV) , or Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LTG) 
  9. Replace the air conditioning receiver and dehydrator. Receiver and Dehydrator Replacement 
  10. Recharge the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf) 
  11. Inspect for refrigerant leaks. Leak Testing (R-1234yf)
