Installation Procedure

If replacing the intake manifold, transfer all necessary parts. Intake Manifold Assemble

NOTE:
Ensure that all 3 gaskets are replaced when installing the intake manifold.

Install a NEW intake manifold gasket. (3)
Install a NEW thermostat housing gaskets (1 and 2).

NOTE:
Nuts (1) mount the engine coolant thermostat housing to the intake manifold and cylinder head. Hand start ALL nuts before final tightening sequence.

NOTE:
Ensure the gasket (4) remains seated during intake manifold installation.

Intake Manifold (3) - Loosely install
Intake Manifold Nut (2) - Loosely install [7x]
Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing - Install - Engine Coolant Thermostat Replacement (LWN)

Tighten in the sequence shown.
1. First pass, tighten 1, 4, 6, 2, 3, 5 to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
2. Final pass, tighten 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

Engine Wiring Harness Bracket(5) - Install [2x]
Wiring Harness (4) - Reposition
Engine Wiring Harness Bracket Nut (3) - Install [2x]
Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Install
Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

Wiring Harness (1) - Connect
Vacuum Pipe (2) - Install
Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe - Install - Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (Fuel Injector to Fuel Rail) , or Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (Fuel Pump to Fuel Rail)
Throttle Body Assembly - Install - Throttle Body Assembly Replacement
Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery)
