Installation Procedure

    Remove the cured RTV carefully (1) and then clean the sealing surfaces.

    2. NOTE:

    After RTV applying, the assembly completion time including torque check must be done within 8 minutes.

  2. Apply RTV sealant to T-joint between cylinder head and front cover (1).

    Install the camshaft cover gasket (1) to the camshaft cover.

    Install the camshaft cover (3).

    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the 13 camshaft cover bolts (1) and tighten to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
  6. Install the 4 camshaft cover stud bolts (2) and tighten to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

    Install the ball stud (1) to the camshaft cover and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the oil level indicator. Refer to Oil Level Indicator Replacement , or Oil Level Indicator Replacement (LV7) .
  9. Install the vacuum pump. Refer to Vacuum Pump Assembly Replacement , or Vacuum Pump Assembly Replacement (LV7) .

    Install the engine lift front bracket (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the engine cover bracket (2), engine lift rear bracket (3) and engine pressure oxygen sensor bracket (4) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  12. Install the camshaft position actuator solenoid valve. Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Replacement , or Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Replacement (LV7) .
  13. Install the camshaft position sensor. Refer to Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement , or Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement (LV7) .
  14. Install the ignition coil. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement , or Ignition Coil Replacement (LV7) .
  15. Connect the electrical connectors.
  16. Connect the fuel injector connectors. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement (L5Q) , or Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement (LV7) .
  17. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (L5Q) , or Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LV7) .
  18. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  19. Close the hood.
