Installation Procedure

  1. Assemble the intake manifold. Intake Manifold Assemble

    Install a NEW intake manifold gasket. (3)

  3. Intake Manifold (2) - Install
  4. Intake Manifold Bolt (1, 4) - Install [9x]

    CAUTION:

    Fastener Caution

    Intake Manifold Bolt - Tighten in sequence [9x] 12 N.m (106 lb in)

    Fuel Injection Fuel Return Pipe Bracket (2) - Install

  7. Fuel Injection Fuel Return Pipe Bracket Bolt (3) - Install and tighten [2x] 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  8. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor Wire Bracket (1) - Install
  9. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor Wire Bracket Bolt (4) - Install and tighten [2x] 9 N.m (80 lb in)

    Intake Manifold Brace (1) - Install

  11. Intake Manifold Brace Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [5x] 10 N.m (89 lb in)

    Install NEW gaskets. (2, 3) [2x]

  13. Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Outlet Pipe (5) - Install
  14. Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Outlet Pipe Bolt (1, 4) - Install and tighten [4x] 10 N.m (89 lb in)

    Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

    Engine Wiring Harness Clip (3) - Install

  17. Install the charge air bypass valve vacuum hose (2) to the retainer (1).

    Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install

  19. Exhaust Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector (2) - Connect

    Engine Wiring Harness (2) - Reposition

  21. Connect the electrical connector:
    1. Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve (6)
    2. Exhaust Gas Recirculation Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve (5)
    3. Exhaust Pressure Differential Sensor (4)
    4. Throttle Body (1)
  22. Engine Wiring Harness Clip (3) - Install

    Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose (3) @ Throttle Body Assembly (2) - Connect

  24. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Retainer Spring - Lock

    Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe (1) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

    Connect the electrical connector:

    1. Fuel Injector (8) [4x]
    2. Mass Airflow Sensor (11)
    3. Camshaft Position Sensor (12)
  27. Engine Wiring Harness Conduit Bolt (7) - Install and tighten [2x] 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  28. Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (6, 10) - Install [7x]
  29. Diesel Fuel Separator - Install - Diesel Fuel Separator Replacement
  30. Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover - Install - Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover Replacement
  31. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  32. Check the fuel system for leaks. Fuel Leak Diagnosis
  33. Install the engine sight shield. Engine Sight Shield Replacement
