Installation Procedure
- Position the powertrain support table under the vehicle.
- Raise the powertrain into position under the vehicle.
- With the table positioned, if required, lower the vehicle over the powertrain.
- Install the NEW frame to body bolts. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Replacement .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the transmission mount. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side .
Install the engine mount (1). Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .
- Install the intermediate drive shaft. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Replacement (LCV with MHG) .
- Install the left wheel drive shaft. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side .
- Connect the lower control arms from the steering knuckles. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .
- Install the exhaust system. Refer to Front Pipe Replacement (LCV) .
- Connect the intermediate shaft to the steering gear. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .
Connect the stabilizer links (1) to the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
Connect the tie rods (1) to the steering knuckles. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement .
Install the air conditioning compressor and condenser hose (1). Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LCV) .
Install the heater outlet hose. Refer to Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LCV)Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LCV Heater Outlet Pipe to Auxiliary Water Pump) .
- Install the heater inlet hose (1). Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV) .
Connect the radiator outlet hose (1). Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV) .
Connect the EVAP hose (1). Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Connect the fuel line. Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Connect the vacuum hose (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Install the intake manifold cover (1). Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
Install the engine wiring harness ground (1) and tighten the fastener to 12 N.m (106 lb in)
Connect the main engine wiring harness (1).
- Insert the main engine wiring harness connector (2) into the fuse block housing.
- Install the front compartment fuse block. Refer to Front Compartment Fuse Block Replacement .
- Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
- Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf) .
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vacuum and Fill)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) .
- If the engine is replaced with a new engine or has been overhauled, perform the Engine Prelubing procedure. Refer to Engine Prelubing .
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
Prelube is necessary if the engine is replaced or overhauled.
