Removal Procedure

- Set the parking brake.WARNING:
Always perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure prior to servicing any High Voltage component or connection. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.
The High Voltage Disabling procedure will perform the following tasks:
- Identify how to disable high voltage.
- Identify how to test for the presence of high voltage.
- Identify condition under which high voltage is always present and personal protection equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.
Failure to follow the procedures exactly as written may result in serious injury or death.
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (without KL9)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (with KL9)
- Disable the high voltage system and disconnect the A4 Hybrid/EV Battery Pack high voltage harness connector at the T6 Power Inverter Module. Refer to High Voltage Disabling .
- Drive Motor Generator Power Inverter Module Cooling System Draining and Filling - Drain
- Remove the range selector lever cable bracket. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Bracket Replacement
- Remove the primary shield (3) from the transmission.
- Remove the secondary shield (2) from the transmission.
- Disconnect and reposition the radiator surge tank overflow hose (1).
- Disconnect and reposition the transmission electrical connector (2).
- Disconnect and reposition the transmission high voltage electrical connectors (3).
- Remove the transmission mount transmission side bracket. Refer to Transmission Mount Transmission-Side Bracket Replacement
- Drive Motor Battery Positive and Negative Cable Connector Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]
- Drive Motor Battery Positive and Negative Cable Connector (2) - Remove
- Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Cover Removal (2) - Remove
