Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Install the transmission to the engine. Refer to Transmission Replacement
- Position the powertrain and support table under the vehicle.
- Raise the powertrain into position under the vehicle.
- With the table positioned, if required, lower the vehicle over the powertrain.
- Install the drivetrain and front suspension cradle to the vehicle. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement
- Lower the vehicle.
- Transmission Mount Bolt (3) - Install NEW [4x] - Transmission Mount Replacement (Left Side)
- Engine Mount Bolt (1) - Install [2x] - Engine Mount Replacement
NOTE: Install NEW bolts.
- Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable (2) - Connect Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement
- Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (2) @ Radiator Surge Tank - Connect Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (LTG)Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (LTG Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe to Radiator Surge Tank)
- Front Wheel Drive Shaft - Left Side - Install Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side (MKE)Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side (MNH)Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side (M3E)
- Front Wheel Drive Shaft - Right Side - Install Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (LTG)
- Exhaust Front Pipe - Install Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LTG)
- Connect the intermediate shaft (2) then install the intermediate shaft pinch bolt (1). Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement
- Front Stabilizer Shaft Link (1) @ Front Stabilizer Shaft - Connect Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement
NOTE: Connect the left and right sides. Left side shown, right side similar.
- Connect the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle (3). Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement
NOTE: Connect the left and right sides. Left side shown, right side similar.
- Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe (2) @ Transmission - Install
- Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Nut (1) - Install Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement (M3E)
- Heater Inlet Hose (2) - Install Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LTG) .
- Heater Outlet Hose (2) - Install Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LTG)
- Air Conditioning Compressor Hose - Install Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LTG)
- Radiator Inlet Hose (2) - Install Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LTG)
- Radiator Outlet Hose (2) - Install Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LTG)
- Evaporative Emission Front Pipe (1) - Install Evaporative Emission Front Pipe Replacement
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube - Install Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement
- Air Cleaner Assembly (1) - Install Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
- Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe - Install Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (LTG)
- Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (without KL9)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (with KL9)
- Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)
- Fuel Feed Front Pipe (2) - Install Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement
- Battery Tray - Install Battery Tray Replacement
- Recharge the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
- If the engine is replaced with a new engine or has been overhauled, perform the engine prelubing procedure. Refer to Engine Prelubing NOTE: Prelube is necessary if the engine is replaced or overhauled.
- If prelubing has not been performed, fill the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
