Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Removal and Installation .
    2. Fig 1: Right Rear Seat Belt Buckle & Nut

  2. Remove the right rear seat belt buckle nut (2).
  3. Remove the right rear seat belt buckle (1).
  4. Remove the right rear seat back assembly. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Removal and Installation (Split Folding Side Cushion Sedan) Rear Seat Back Cushion Removal and Installation (Split Folding Center Cushion Sedan) Rear Seat Back Cushion Removal and Installation (Fixed Back) .
  5. Place the right rear seat back assembly on a suitable surface.

  6. Remove the right rear seat back child restraint tether anchor covers (1) from the right rear seat back assembly (2).
  7. Remove the circlip (4) from the pivot retainer assembly (3).
  8. Remove the pivot retainer assembly (3) from the right rear seat back assembly (2).

  9. Remove the right rear seat back latch trim cover (1) from the right rear seat back assembly (2).
  10. Remove the right rear seat back latch release button cover (3) from the right rear seat back assembly (2).

    NOTE:

    Adjust the armrest (3) to a suitable position to access the right rear seat back cover retainer (1).

  11. Carefully pull down on the right rear seat back cover retainer (1) and detach the trim flap (4) from the trim flap retainer (2).

    NOTE:

    Lift the right rear seat back cover trim flap (3) to expose the armrest to right rear seat back frame retaining bolts (1).

  12. Remove the right rear seat back armrest to the right rear seat back frame retaining bolts (1).
  13. Remove the right rear seat back armrest assembly (2) from the right rear seat back assembly (4).

  14. Remove the centre rear seatbelt guide trim (1) from the rear seat back assembly (3).
  15. Remove the centre rear seatbelt guide trim (1) from the centre rear seatbelt (2).

    NOTE:

    Care must be taken not to damage the right rear seat back cover front retaining strip (1) and the right rear seat back cover rear retaining strip (2) when disengaging them from the right rear seat back cover retaining strip channel (3).

  16. Using a suitable tool disengage the right rear seat back cover front retaining strip (1) from the right rear seat back retaining strip channel (3).
  17. Using a suitable tool disengage the right rear seat back cover rear retaining strip (2) from the right rear seat back retaining strip channel (3).

  18. Unzip the right rear seat back cover zipper (1).
  19. Fold back the right rear seat back cover (2).

    NOTE:

    Take care not to tear the right rear seat back cover (1) when removing it from the right rear seat back assembly (2).

  20. Detach the velcro™ strips (3) from the right rear seat back assembly (2) and remove the right rear seat back cover (1) from the right rear seat back assembly (2).
