Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Right Rear Seat Back Assembly, Cover & Velcro(TM) Strips

    NOTE:

    Make sure that the velcro™ strips (3) are located correctly. Failure to comply may result in the incorrect installation of the right rear seat back cover (1).

    NOTE:

    Make sure that the right rear seat back cover (1) fits tightly without creasing, over the right rear seat back assembly (2).

  1. Install the right rear seat back cover (1) to the right rear seat back assembly (2). Attach the velcro™ strips (3) to the right rear seat back assembly (2).

    NOTE:

    Conceal the zipper ends behind the right rear seat back cover (2). Failure to comply may result in damage to the right rear seat back cover zippers.

  2. Zip up the right rear seat back cover zipper (1).

    NOTE:

    Care must be taken not to damage the right rear seat back cover front retaining strip (1) and the right rear seat back cover rear retaining strip (2) when engaging them into the right rear seat back cover retaining strip channel (3).

  3. Using a suitable tool engage the right rear seat back cover front retaining strip (1) into the right rear seat back retaining strip channel (3).
  4. Using a suitable tool engage the right rear seat back cover rear retaining strip (2) into the right rear seat back retaining strip channel (3).

  5. Install the centre rear seatbelt (2) to the centre rear seatbelt guide trim (1).
  6. Install the centre rear seatbelt guide trim (1) to the rear seat back assembly (3).

  7. Install the right rear seat back armrest assembly (2) to the right rear seat back assembly (4).
    8. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  8. Install the right rear seat back armrest to right rear seat back frame retaining bolts (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

    NOTE:

    Adjust the armrest (3) to a suitable position to access the right rear seat back cover retainer (1).

  9. Carefully pull down on the right rear seat back cover retainer (1) and attach the trim flap (4) to the trim flap retainer (2).

  10. Attach the right rear seat back latch release button cover (3) to the right rear seat back assembly (2).
  11. Attach the right rear seat back latch trim cover (1) to the right rear seat back assembly (2).

  12. Attach the pivot retainer assembly (3) to the right rear seat back assembly (2).
  13. Attach the circlip (4) to the pivot retainer assembly (3).
  14. Attach the right rear seat back child restraint tether anchor covers (1) to the right rear seat back assembly (2).
  15. Install the rear seat back cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Removal and Installation (Split Folding Side Cushion Sedan) Rear Seat Back Cushion Removal and Installation (Split Folding Center Cushion Sedan) Rear Seat Back Cushion Removal and Installation (Fixed Back) .

    NOTE:

    Make sure the right rear seat belt buckle is parallel to vehicle centreline as shown.

  16. Install the right rear seat belt buckle (1).
    17. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  17. Install the right rear seat belt buckle nut (2).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

  18. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Removal and Installation .
