Installation Procedure

- Assemble the positive crankcase ventilation unit as shown above, using the J-35566
pliers

- Positive crankcase ventilation heater (1)
- Positive crankcase ventilation tube (2)
- Positive crankcase ventilation oil separator (3)
- Seal rings (4, 5)
- Hose clamps (arrows)
- Install the positive crankcase ventilation oil separator from top direction and fix it by loosely installing the upper oil separator bolt.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Install NEW seal rings (4, 5).
- Install the PCV oil separator (2) to the engine.CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .NOTE: Ensure that the positive crankcase ventilation oil separator is in correct position inside of the oil pan.NOTE: Current laws require these fastener only to be replaced with new tamper resistant fasteners identified specifically for this component. Refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog.
- Install 2 NEW positive crankcase ventilation oil separator bolts (3) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in), using the EN-50956 bit.
- Install the wiring harness retainer to the positive crankcase ventilation oil separator.
- Install the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (2.0L Diesel LUZ) .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Tighten the positive crankcase ventilation oil separator bolt (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Reposition the positive crankcase ventilation tube (2) to the engine and install the 2 bolts (1).
- Tighten the 2 positive crankcase ventilation tube bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Clip in the wiring harness to the tube.
- Install the positive crankcase ventilation heater (3) to the air cleaner outlet rear duct.
- Connect the positive crankcase ventilation heater wiring harness plug (1).
- Clip in the wiring harness retainer (2).
- Ensure that the positive crankcase ventilation heater gap (1) aligns to the air cleaner outlet rear duct lug (2).
- Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
- Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
