Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
  2. Remove the radiator inlet hose from thermostat housing. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (2.0L Diesel LUZ) .
  3. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
  4. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation pipe. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Replacement .
  5. Remove the charge air cooler hose from the throttle body.
  6. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt from the exhaust gas recirculation cooler.
  7. Remove the exhaust pressure sensor pipe. Refer to Exhaust Pressure Sensor Pipe Replacement .
  8. Remove all wiring harness plugs, retainer clips and hoses:
    1. Remove the coolant pipe to oil cooler from the exhaust gas recirculation cooler assembly.
    2. Disconnect the wiring harness plug from the exhaust gas recirculation valve.
    3. Disconnect the heater inlet hose quick fitting.
    4. Disconnect the wiring harness plug from the engine coolant temperature sensor.
    5. Disconnect the wiring harness plug from the exhaust gas recirculation vacuum regulator valve solenoid.
    6. Remove the vacuum hose from the power brake booster pump.
    7. Remove the coolant air bleed hose from the thermostat housing.
    8. Remove the turbocharger wastegate actuator hose.
    9. Remove the automatic transmission wiring harness strap.
  9. Remove the 2 exhaust gas recirculation valve cooler nuts (2) and the 2 exhaust gas recirculation valve cooler bolts (3).

  10. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve cooler assembly (1).
  11. Disassemble exhaust gas recirculation valve cooler. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Disassemble .
