Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front seat back cushion heater to the new cushion pad, if equipped. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Back Heater Replacement .
  2. Install the seat back cover (1) to the seat back pad (2).

    • Install the seat back cover (1) onto Velcro on vertical trench attachments.
    • Attach the cross-seat retainer on lower tie downs.
    • Position the seat back cover (1) and pad (2) to the seat back frame (3).
  3. Install the seat side airbag. Refer to Front Seat Outboard Seat Back Airbag Replacement .
  4. Secure the seat back cover (1) to seat back frame (3).
    • Install the seat back cover upper retainer to the seat back frame.
    • Position the front portion of the seat back cover around the bottom of the seat back frame.
    • Secure the seat back cover retainers all the way around.
    • Close the 2 zippers on the backside of the seat back cover.
      NOTE:

      Pay close attention when attempting to close the zippers. If the material is pulling the zippers apart with a lot of tension and the zippers are hard to close, you must pull the material closer together in order to close the zippers.

      First line the zipper lengths up, hold the top of the zipper and cover secure BEFORE pulling the close out down.

    • Connect the J-retainer to secure the front and rear portions of the seat back cover.
  5. Install the seat back to the seat cushion.

  6. Install the front seat back bolts (2) and tighten to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  7. Connect the wiring harness plug (1), if equipped.
  8. Install the seat wiring harness as required to the seat cushion frame.
  9. Attach cushion cover below the seat back.
  10. Install front seat head restraint guide. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Head Restraint Guide Replacement .
  11. Install seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement .
  12. Install seat cushion inner trim panel. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Inner Trim Panel Replacement .
  13. Install front seat recliner handle. Refer to Front Seat Back Recliner Handle Replacement .
  14. Install seat adjuster handle, if equipped. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Adjuster Handle Replacement .
  15. Install driver or passenger seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation .
