Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Left Side)Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Right Side) .
  3. Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Hose Replacement (LS7)  - Remove
  4. If replacing the right side coils, remove the Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Hose. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Hose Replacement (LS7) .
  5. Reposition the engine wire harness as necessary.

  6. Disconnect the spark plug wires (1) from the ignition coils.

  7. Disconnect the main ignition coil harness connector (1) from the ignition coil assembly.
  8. Remove the ignition coil assembly to rocker cover retaining bolts (2).

  9. Remove the ignition coil assembly from the engine.
  10. Disconnect the ignition coil to ignition coil wiring harness connectors (1).

  11. Remove the ignition coil to ignition coil assembly retaining bolts (1).
  12. Remove the ignition coils from the ignition coil assembly.
