Disconnecting System Connectors

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Honda Insight and 2010 Honda Insight. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure (see 12 VOLT BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ), then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
  3. Driver's Airbag 

  4. Remove the access panel (A) from the steering wheel, then disconnect the driver's airbag 4P connector (B) from the cable reel (see SPRING-LOADED LOCK CONNECTOR ).

    Front Passenger's Airbag 

  5. Lower the glove box (see step 1 GLOVE BOX STRIKER REPLACEMENT ). Disconnect the front passenger's airbag 4P connector (A) from the dashboard wire harness (B) (see SPRING-LOADED LOCK CONNECTOR ).

  6. Side Airbag 

  7. Disconnect both side airbag 2P connectors (A) from the floor wire harness (see SPRING-LOADED LOCK CONNECTOR ).

  8. Side Curtain Airbag 

  9. Remove the C-pillar trim (see C-PILLAR TRIM ).
  10. Disconnect both wire harness 2P connectors (A) from the side curtain airbags (see SPRING-LOADED LOCK CONNECTOR ).

  11. Seat Belt Tensioner 

  12. Remove the B-pillar lower trim (see B-PILLAR UPPER/LOWER TRIM ).
  13. Disconnect both floor wire harness 4P connectors (A) from the seat belt tensioners (see SPRING-LOADED LOCK CONNECTOR ).

  14. SRS Unit 

  15. Remove the center console (see CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  16. Remove the heater joint duct (see step 7 DASHBOARD/STEERING HANGER BEAM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  17. Disconnect SRS unit connectors A (39P) and B (39P) from the SRS unit (see LEVER-LOCKED CONNECTOR ).
