Removal & Installation (Side Impact)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. For driver side impact air bag module, see ZONE 7  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.. For passenger side impact air bag module, see ZONE 9  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM..
  2. Remove applicable front seat. Remove "J" clips from seat back. Remove plastic moulding that holds air bag module to seat back. Make note of wire harness routing for installation. See Fig 4. Remove side impact air bag module from seat back.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure wiring harness is routed correctly. Tighten seat mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. For passenger side impact air bag module, see ZONE 9  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.. For driver side impact air bag module, see ZONE 7  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM..
