Test A: Air Delivery Improper

Definition: Air does not flow correctly from the air distribution outlets.
- If diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If diagnostic system check was not performed, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Turn ignition on. Place blower switch in OFF position. If blower motor is off, go to next step. If blower motor is not off, go to TEST C: BLOWER MOTOR ALWAYS ON .
- Place blower switch in each speed position. If blower motor operates at all, go to next step. If blower motor does not operate at all, go to TEST D: BLOWER MOTOR INOPERATIVE .
- If blower motor operates correctly for each speed position, go to next step. If blower motor does not operate correctly for each speed position, go to TEST E: BLOWER MOTOR MALFUNCTION .
- Start engine. Place blower switch in HIGH speed position. Place mode switch in each mode position. If mode is inoperative in all positions, perform vacuum control system diagnostics. See VACUUM CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTICS under SYSTEM TESTS. If mode is operative in all positions, check wiring and connections for intermittent conditions which could cause problem.
