Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Chevrolet Suburban 3500 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install the fuel/EVAP line bundle.
- Install the fuel line bracket nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
- Install the fuel hose/pipe clip to the bracket on the transfer case.
- Install the fuel line clip to the bracket on the automatic transmission.
- Install the fuel pipe bracket to the bellhousing stud.
- Install the fuel pipe bracket nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Raise the transmission.
- Install the transmission support crossmember. Refer to Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (2WD)Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (4WD)
- Remove the jack stand.
- Install the transfer case skid shield. Refer to Transfer Case Skid Shield Replacement
- Connect the heated oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1. Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 Sensor 1
- Position the propeller shaft and connect the u-joint retainers. Refer to Front Axle Propeller Shaft Replacement (NQH)Front Axle Propeller Shaft Replacement (Heavy Duty)
- Remove the caps from the fuel rail and EVAP line.
- Connect the EVAP line (1) quick connect fitting to the chassis line. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Connect the fuel feed line (2) quick connect fitting to the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Install the fuel fill cap.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery)
- Use the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks:
- Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF, for 2 seconds.
- Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds.
- Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
- Inspect for fuel leaks.
- Install the intake manifold sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement
