Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (4 WD)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Support the transmission with a transmission jack.
  3. Remove the transfer case skid shield, if equipped. Refer to Transfer Case Skid Shield Replacement .
1 Transmission Crossmember Nut (Qty: 4)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
95 N.m (70 lb ft)
2 Transmission Crossmember Bolt (Qty: 4)

Procedure

  1. Remove all traces of the original adhesive patch.
  2. Clean the threads of the bolt with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
  3. Apply threadlocker. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
3 Transmission Mount to Crossmember Nut (Qty: 2)
Tighten 
55 N.m (41 lb ft)
4 Transmission Crossmember
