Removal Procedure

NOTE:
When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack under any sheet metal or the crankshaft pulley.
- Remove the intake manifold sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
- Partially raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the left wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (GMC)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (Chevrolet) .
- Remove the engine mount to frame bolts (1).
- Undo clip for transmission cooler lines.
- Undo the front stabilizer shaft insulators. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement (Light Duty)Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement (Heavy Duty) .
- Remove the left side exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement - Left Side (L96) .
- Remove the engine mount to engine bolts (1).
- Using the adjustable jack, raise the engine slightly until there is enough clearance to remove the engine mount.
- Remove the engine mount.
