Preliminary Procedure Remove the front compartment front sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement (GMC) Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement (Chevrolet) Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement (Cadillac) Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement Remove front end sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement Remove the windshield washer solvent container. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement (Chevrolet/GMC)Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement (Cadillac) Remove on Chevrolet, and GMC the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (GMC)Headlamp Replacement (Chevrolet)Headlamp Replacement (Cadillac) Remove the radiator upper bolts. Tighten 25 N.m (18 lb ft) Disconnect the electrical harness from the front end upper tie upper bar support. Remove the right side radiator baffle retainers at the upper tie bar.
1	Headlamp and Radiator Grille Mount Panel Bolt CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
2	Front End Upper Tie Bar Support Bolt (Qty: 6) Tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
