WARNING: Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . WARNING: Do not repair or replace the seat stitching or seams in the seat back trim cover with an internal mounted seat side airbag module. Replace the complete seat back trim cover from the OEM. Non-OEM seat stitching may cause improper airbag deployment which could result in personal injury. Preliminary Procedure Disable the SIR system. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation . Remove the driver or passenger seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation . Remove the driver or passenger seat inner recliner finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Inner Recliner Finish Cover Replacement . Remove the driver or passenger seat outer adjuster finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Outer Adjuster Finish Cover Replacement . Remove the driver or passenger seat head restraint. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Head Restraint Replacement (without AHS) . Remove the driver or passenger seat back cushion finish panel. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel Replacement (without UWG) , Front Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel Replacement (with UWG) . Remove the seat side inflatable restraint module nuts and disengage the connector position assurance (CPA) from the module. Refer to Front Seat Outboard Seat Back Airbag Replacement .
1	Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Cover Procedure Disengage the electrical connector. Disconnect the seat vent fan duct from the vent fan. Disengage the j-channel retainers from the seat back cushion frame. Remove the seat back cushion cover and pad from the seat cushion frame as an assembly.
2	Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Pad Procedure Remove the inflatable restraint module from the seat cover pocket. Remove the hog rings from the seat back pad. Pull the cushion cover off of the pad. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Remove the driver or passenger seat inner recliner finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Inner Recliner Finish Cover Replacement .
Remove the driver or passenger seat outer adjuster finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Outer Adjuster Finish Cover Replacement .
Remove the driver or passenger seat head restraint. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Head Restraint Replacement (without AHS) .
Remove the driver or passenger seat back cushion finish panel. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel Replacement (without UWG) , Front Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel Replacement (with UWG) .
Remove the seat side inflatable restraint module nuts and disengage the connector position assurance (CPA) from the module. Refer to Front Seat Outboard Seat Back Airbag Replacement .

Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Cover

Procedure

Disengage the electrical connector.
Disconnect the seat vent fan duct from the vent fan.
Disengage the j-channel retainers from the seat back cushion frame.
Remove the seat back cushion cover and pad from the seat cushion frame as an assembly.

Procedure

Remove the inflatable restraint module from the seat cover pocket.
Remove the hog rings from the seat back pad.
Pull the cushion cover off of the pad.
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
