Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LEA)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove front compartment splash shield. Refer to Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement .
  4. Reposition the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  5. Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
  6. Remove the air conditioning compressor and condenser hose. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Replacement .
1 A/C Compressor Nut
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

NOTE:

Tighten the air conditioning compressor mounting fasteners in sequence.


Tighten 
22 N.m (16 lb ft)
2 A/C Compressor Stud
Tighten 
22 N.m (16 lb ft)
3 A/C Compressor Bolt (Qty:2)
Tighten 
22 N.m (16 lb ft)
4 A/C Compressor
