Installing the steering gear bellows

Version A: Installing the steering gear bellows 

• Grease the electromechanical steering gear and the tie rod in the areas (1) and (2) all around.

• Screw the special tool 2 460 533  on the tie rod.
• Check the bellows (2) and replace if necessary.
• Slide the bellows (2) over the special tool 2 460 533 and correctly position  .
• Check the hose clamp (1) and replace where required.
• Install the hose clamp (1).
• Remove the special tool 2 460 533  .

• Replace the ear hose clamp (1).

  Parts:  Ear hose clamp

• Position the ear hose clamp (1).
• Attach the hook fastener of the ear hose clamp (1) and press the ear hose clamp using special tool  0 494 152 (32 1 260)  .

Version B: Installing the steering gear bellows 

• Grease the electromechanical steering gear and the tie rod in areas (1) and (2).

• Check the bellows (2), replace if necessary.
• Push up the bellows (2) and position.
• Fasten the clip (1).

• Replace the ear hose clamp (1).

  Parts:  Ear hose clamp

• Position the ear hose clamp (1).
• Attach the hook fastener of the ear hose clamp (1) and press the ear hose clamp using special tool  0 494 152 (32 1 260)  .
