Replacing shock absorber, rear

Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING REAR LEFT OR RIGHT WHEEL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER OF THE CAMBER CONTROL ARM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER .
- Remove the centering plate (1).
- Release the nut (1) with the special tools 2 355 965 and 2 355 966.
- Remove the support bearing (2) from the shock absorber.
- Remove the auxiliary damper (1).
- Check the auxiliary damper (1) for damage and replace where required.
- Install the auxiliary damper (1) on the new shock absorber.
- Attach the support bearing (2) to the new shock absorber.
- Replace nut (1).
Parts: Nut
- Tighten the nut (1) with the special tools 2 355 965
and 2 355 966. TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
Support bearing on shock absorber M10
Replace nut.tightening torque 41 Nm - Check the centering plate (1) for damage and replace if necessary.
- Install the centering plate (1).

- Refer to INSTALLING REAR LEFT OR RIGHT WHEEL .
- Refer to MEASURING THE RIDE HEIGHT OF THE REAR AXLE AND SETTING THE NORMAL POSITION .
- Refer to TIGHTENING THE SCREW CONNECTION OF THE SHOCK ABSORBER ON THE CAMBER CONTROL ARM .
- Refer to INSTALLING THE COVER OF THE CAMBER CONTROL ARM .
