Installing the radial shaft seal for the gearshift shaft

- Coat sealing lips of radial shaft seal and gearshift shaft with transmission oil.
- Drive in radial shaft seal with special tool 0 493 423 (23 0 220) .
- Replace spring circlip (4).
Parts: Spring circlip
- Lock spring circlip (4) in place in installation position (2).
- Install gearshift rod joint (3) in the arrow direction.
- Press cylindrical pin (1) into gearshift rod joint (3).
- Secure cylindrical pin (1) using the spring circlip (4).

- Grease bearing journal (1).
- Install the bearing journal (1) in arrow direction.
- Lock the fuses (2) in arrow direction.

- Grease the gearshift rod pin (1) of gearshift rod (2).
- Hook the gearshift rod (1) into the gearshift rod joint (3) in the arrow direction.
- Insert retaining clip (2).
The retaining clip must snap-in audibly.
