Attaching the engine on the front subframe

- Check lifting eyes and engine mounting brackets for damage, e.g. cracks.
- Attach the component to correctly mounted engine joints or cross members only.
- Only lift the component, do not shift it forwards, backwards or in transverse direction.
- Keep the special tool 2 220 718
ready.
- Keep the special tool 0 490 561 (11 0 000)
ready.
- Guide in and position special tool 2 459 012 on cylinder head.
- Tighten the screws (1) of special tool 2 459 012 .

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The workshop crane, lifting gear and the mounting brackets on the engine must all be connected to each other so that the engine hangs straight upon lifting.

- Connect both the hooks of the special tool 0 490 561 (11 0 000) at the front to the special tool 2 459 012
and at the rear to the engine with the mounting
bracket.
- Connect the special tool 2 220 718 with the special tool 0 490 561 (11 0 000) .
- Position the engine with the special tool 2 220 718
on the front subframe.
- Tighten the screw (1) of the engine mount on the right with a commercially available tool.

- Tighten the screw (1) of the engine mount on the left with a commercially available tool.

- Feed in and position the automatic oil lines (2).
- Tighten down screw (1).

- Version with engine mount with vacuum line:
- Secure vacuum line (1).
- Connect and lock coolant line (1).
The coolant line (1) must engage audibly.
- Replace the sealing rings (1) of the lines (2).
Parts: Sealing ring
- Guide in and install the engine oil lines (2).
- Tighten nuts (1).
