Removing the front ornamental grille/radome
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Failure to comply with the specifications for closing the hood.
Paintwork damage on the A-pillar, scratches or flaking of the paint.

- Mask off the hood at the corners.
- Let the hood fall maximum 30-40 cm when closing it.

- It is imperative to replace components that have fallen off even if there is no visible damage.
Preliminary work
- Refer to MOVING THE HOOD TO THE SERVICE POSITION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE NUMBER PLATE BASEPLATE FOR THE FRONT LICENSE PLATE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE RADIATOR GRILLE FRAME .

- It is imperative to replace components that have fallen off even if there is no visible damage.
- Release screws (1) .
- Remove the front ornamental grille (2) while possibly unlocking and disconnecting the existing plug connection.
Check
- Check the sense amplifier (1) for damage.
Result
» Sense amplifier (1) is damaged.
Measure
- Remove the pedestrian protection sensor, visually check for damage and replace if necessary.
Measure
- Replace the sense amplifier (1) .
