Removing the number plate baseplate for the front license plate

- Only install the license plate and number plate baseplate according to the predefined dimensions in the repair instructions.
- Attach the license plate and number plate baseplate to the bumper cover without pre-drilling , otherwise there is a risk of damage to the cables underneath.
- Only use number plate baseplates that have been approved for the vehicle type.
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The license plate must be precisely mounted on the number plate baseplate and must not protrude on the underside.
The license-plate carrier must not be installed on the front bumper.

- European version:
- Loosen screws (1) .
- Remove number plate baseplate (2) to the front.
Removing the number plate baseplate for the license plate (US and Japanese versions)
- Heat number plate baseplate (1) carefully using a hot air blower (temperature of about 40-55°C).
- Release and remove number plate baseplate (1) from the adhesive strips in the marked area using special tool 0 496 571 (00 9 327) .
- Remove the adhesive residue from the radiator grille.
- Chinese version:
- Loosen screws (1) .
- Remove number plate baseplate (2)
to the front.
- Korean version:
- Loosen screws (1) .
- Remove number plate baseplate (2) to the front.
