Moving the hood to the service position
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Failure to comply with the specifications for closing the hood.
Paintwork damage on the A-pillar, scratches or flaking of the paint.

- Mask off the hood at the corners.
- Let the hood fall maximum 30-40 cm when closing it.
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Unclip wire loop (1)
.
The opening is located at the bottom of the instrument panel, in the area of the A-pillar.
- Unlock the hood latch by pulling it.
- For vehicles before 9/2022:
Push back the wire loop (1) .
- Open hood (1) and hold it open with your hand.
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Press the red pin (1) to unlock.
- Insert special tool 5 A3C D29 into the aligned bores on hood hinge (2) .
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Mask the hood with adhesive tape in area (1) . Pay special attention to the corner (2) when doing so.
