Remove instrument panel trim
WARNING:
Working on 12 V electrical system.

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

Remove the trim for the head-up display
- Release and remove the trim (1)
with the special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325)
on the clamps (2)
and (3)

NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Loosen screw (1)

- Loosen screw (1)
.
- Loosen screws (1)
.
- Loosen screws (1)
.
- Loosen screws (1) .
- Feed out the air duct (2)
and remove it.
- Loosen screws (1)
.
- Release the connector (1) from the dashboard trim.
- Loosen screws (2)
.
- Release the screw (1)
in the right footwell.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1)
on the front passenger airbag.
NOTE:
Conduct the following operation with the assistance of a second person.
