- Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
- Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
In order to guarantee the quality of the Driver Assistance functions in vehicles with concealed radar sensors, the component may be repainted only in compliance with the repair specifications described in the service information "Standards for refinishing paint with a sensor system".
No stickers or films (transparent or colored) may be affixed in the transmission areas of the radar sensors.
If there are no radar sensors fitted, the component may be painted.
The following features can be used to identify whether radar sensors are installed on the vehicle:
Radar sensors are installed at the rear if the triangular warning light is present on the exterior mirror (in the mirror glass or on the mirror frame).
Radar sensors are installed at the front and rear if the triangular warning light is present on the exterior mirror (in the mirror glass or on the mirror frame) in conjunction with optional equipment S5ATA or S5AUA.

- Removing the rear left and right rear reflectors

Removing rear reflector
NOTE:

- Unlock the clamps (1) and remove the rear reflector at rear from the trim.
- Installing the rear reflectors on the rear left and right NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
Installing rear reflector
NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical. - Check the clamps (1) on rear reflector (2) for damage. Replace the rear reflector (2) if necessary.
- Position the rear reflectors (1) in the bumper cover (2) and clip them in.
- Replace the rear bumper cover.
Parts: Rear bumper cover
If installed: Partially removing the ultrasonic sensors (additional work with Park Distance Control (PDC))
NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details. - Unlock the detents (1) and release the ultrasonic sensor (2) from the bumper cover.
The ultrasonic sensor (2) remains connected to the vehicle wiring harness.
- Perform the steps on all other ultrasonic sensors.
- Release the wiring harness with the holders from the bumper cover.
- Remove the wiring harness with the connected ultrasonic sensors.
If installed: Partially installing the ultrasonic sensors (additional work with Park Distance Control (PDC))
NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details. - Check decoupling ring (1) for damage and, if necessary, replace it.
- Position the wiring harness with the connected ultrasonic sensors.
- Clip the wiring harness into the bumper cover with all the holders.
- Guide in ultrasonic sensor (2) and clip it into detents (1).
- Perform the steps on all other ultrasonic sensors.
