Guide spindle 33 5 013, 33 5 014, 33 5 015 from below through the camber control arm and lower spring cup 2 412 505.
Insert top spring cup 2 412 506 sideways into coil spring and turn to the uppermost winding.
Pull spindle 33 5 013 down.
Make sure coil spring is correctly positioned in spring cups.
Check mounting orientation of special tools 2 412 505, 2 412 506 and 33 5 013, 33 5 014, 33 5 015, correct if necessary.
Tighten coil spring using special tools 33 5 016 and 33 5 020, gripping the spindle of the spring tensioner with special tool 33 5 017.
Tension the coil spring so that the normal position can be set by lifting the wheel carrier.
Secure special tool 2 358 630 with wheel studs to drive flange.
Support steering stub with special tool 2 358 630 and workshop jack at wheel hub.
Adjusting normal position:
Attention:
To raise the wheel carrier, the spring absolutely must be tensioned. Do not move the wheel carrier to normal position against the spring force.
Press wheel carrier with universal jack and special tool 2 358 630 upwards to dimension (A).
Dimension (A) = center of wheel hub to upper edge of wheel arch
F80 = 343 mm
F82, F83= 363 mm
F87, F87 Comp. (US only) = 359 mm
F87 Comp. = 351 mm
Position the wishbone (1) on the rear axle support.
Part : Replace screw (2).
Screw in screw (2).
- Do not yet tighten the screw (2).
- Do not pull down too strongly on the wishbone when pivoting in the wheel carrier.
Risk of damage to the painted surface of the brake caliper!
Swivel the wishbone (1) into the wheel carrier.
Part : Replace screw (1).
Tighten screw (1).
Tightening torque 33 32 2AZ .
Tighten screw (2).
Tightening torque 33 32 1AZ .
Lower the universal lifter and place to one side.
Remove special tool 2 358 630.
Check fitting of coil springs in spring pads (top and bottom), if necessary again align and relieve tension.
Remove special tools 2 412 505, 2 412 506 and 33 5 013, 33 5 014, 33 5 015.
Required follow-up work:
- Install REINFORCEMENT STRUT .
- Install REAR WHEEL .
- Carry out wheel alignment procedure. Refer to CARRY OUT KINEMATICS DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM WHEEL ALIGNMENT WITH VEHICLE LOAD UP TO DESIGN POSITION or KINEMATICS DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM WHEEL ALIGNMENT WITH RIDE HEIGHT MEASUREMENT WITHOUT LOADING THE VEHICLE .
