Removing and installing/replacing left or right rear reinforcement strut

Attention! 

Observe SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS for raising the vehicle

Driving without reinforcement struts is prohibited!

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove the FUEL TANK COVER .

Removal: 

F80, F82: 

Release screws (1, 2 and 3).

Slacken nut (4).

Remove reinforcement bar (5).

F83: 

Undo screws (1, 2, 3 and 6).

Slacken nut (4).

Remove reinforcement bar (5).

Installation: 

F80, F82: 

Position the tension strut (5).

Part  : Replace nut (4).

Tighten nut (4) handtight.

Part  : Replace the screws (2 and 3).

Hand-tighten the screws (1, 2 and 3).

Tighten nut (4).

Tightening torque 33 32 12AZ .

Tighten screw (3).

Tightening torque 33 32 9AZ .

Tighten screw (2).

Tightening torque 33 32 10AZ .

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 33 32 11AZ .

F83: 

Position the tension strut (5).

Part  : Replace nut (4).

Tighten nut (4) handtight.

Part  : Replace screws (2, 3 and 6).

Tighten screws (1, 2, 3 and 6) hand-tight.

Tighten nut (4).

Tightening torque 33 32 12AZ .

Tighten down screws (6)

Tightening torque 33 32 14AZ .

Tighten screw (3).

Tightening torque 33 32 9AZ .

Tighten screw (2).

Tightening torque 33 32 10AZ .

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 33 32 11AZ .

Required follow-up work: 

• Install the FUEL TANK COVER .
