11 12 000 Removing and installing/sealing cylinder head cover (B48B)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Removal:

Detach both oxygen sensor cables (1) in marked areas.

Detach positive battery cable (2) in marked areas.

Unlock both connectors (1) and disconnect.

Unlock and pull off blow-by line (2).

Detach engine wiring harness (3) in marked areas.

Release both oxygen sensor connectors (1) of the carrier plate.

Release screw (2) and place the carrier plate to the side.

Detach the cable in the marked areas.

Detach injector wiring harness (3) in marked areas.

Loosen screw (4) and lay the fuel feed line to one side.

Release screws in the sequence 15 - 1 .

Remove cylinder head cover.

Replacement:

Installation:

Parts: Replace profile seal (1).

NOTE: The cylinder head cover (1) must not be positioned in the marked area at the high pressure pump support (2).

Position cylinder head cover.

Attention!

Risk of damage to cylinder head cover!

Make sure that the cylinder head cover does not touch the high pressure pump bracket!

Join all cylinder head cover screws for 1/2 revolution in the sequence 1 - 15 .

Tighten cylinder head cover screws in the sequence 1 - 15 .

Tightening torque: 11 12 3AZ.

Position the fuel feed line and secure with screw (4).

Tightening torque 13 53 5AZ .

Position injector wiring harness (3) and clip in the marked areas.

Clip in the engine wiring harness in the marked areas.

Position carrier plate and mount with screw (2).

Clip in both oxygen sensor connectors (1) on the carrier plate.

Place engine wiring harness (3) correctly and clip in marked areas.

Clip in blow-by line (2).

Connect both connectors (1).

Clip in positive battery cable (2) in marked areas.

Attach both oxygen sensor cables (1) in marked areas.
